  • Yes & No. For Whole-Body MRI's you do not need a physician referral, however, most insurance plans require a physician's referral for diagnostic imaging. Self-pay options are available.

  • We accept major providers including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers like Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare. Verify coverage with your plan prior to your visit.

  • Costs vary by procedure however we offer Whole-Body MRI for $2499. We offer transparent pricing and accept credit cards. Request a price during scheduling.

Preparation for Scans

  • Wear comfortable clothing without metal, remove jewelry, and inform us of any implants. Fasting may be required if contrast is used—your doctor will advise.

  • Typically yes, unless contrast dye is involved, in which case you may need to fast for 4–6 hours. Always follow your physician's instructions.

  • Our open-bore MRI machines reduce enclosed feelings. We offer a high end luxurious experience that is built around reducing your anxiety with needing a scan.

  • MRI is generally safe in pregnancy after the first trimester, but CT scans involve radiation and are avoided unless essential. Consult your OB-GYN.

  • Disclose allergies, kidney issues, pacemakers, or metal implants, as these may affect safety or require adjustments.

What to Expect During Procedures

  • Typically 45–90 minutes, depending on the protocol. You'll lie still while the machine captures detailed images.

  • No, MRI is painless but involves loud noises (earplugs provided) and requires stillness.

  • You'll lie on a table that moves through a doughnut-shaped scanner. It takes 5–30 minutes and uses X-rays for cross-sectional images.

  • For MRI, you may hear banging sounds. For CT, it's quick and silent, but contrast dye can cause a warm sensation.

  • Yes, absolutel! You may bring a companion for support, but they cannot enter the scan room due to magnetic fields (MRI) or radiation (CT).

Safety and Risks

  • Yes, MRI uses magnetic fields and radio waves, no radiation. Risks are minimal but include reactions to contrast or issues with metal implants.

  • CT uses low-dose radiation, equivalent to background exposure over a few years. Risks are low, but discuss with your doctor if frequent scans are needed.

  • It's a substance injected to enhance images. Most patients tolerate it well, but rare allergic reactions can occur. Kidney function is checked beforehand.

  • Some are MRI-compatible; others are not. Provide details in advance—we'll confirm safety.

  • No, whole body MRI uses no ionizing radiation, making it safer for comprehensive screening.

Differences Between Scans

  • MRI uses magnets for soft tissue detail (no radiation); CT uses X-rays for quick bone and organ views (with radiation).

  • For brain, spine, joints, or soft tissues where detailed, radiation-free imaging is needed.

  • For emergencies, bone fractures, or when speed is critical, as CT is faster.

  • A comprehensive scan from head to toe, often used for early detection of cancers or systemic issues.

  • Diagnostic MRI targets specific areas; whole body covers everything for screening purposes.

Results and Follow-Up

  • Radiologists review images within 24 hours; results are sent to your referring physician (if whole-body, results sent to you) who will discuss them with you.

  • Yes, absolutely.

  • Your doctor will guide next steps, such as further tests or specialist referrals. We do not interpret results directly.

  • Both are highly accurate for detecting issues, but no test is 100% infallible. Combine with clinical evaluation.

  • Yes, depending on the condition's stage or location. Always report persistent symptoms to your doctor.

Specific to Whole Body MRI

  • Those at high risk for cancer, with family history, or seeking proactive health screening. Not routine for everyone—consult your doctor.

  • It can identify abnormalities suggestive of cancer, but biopsy is needed for confirmation.

  • Typically annually for screening, but frequency depends on your health profile and doctor's recommendation.

  • Often not for screening; it's considered elective. Check your policy or opt for self-pay.

  • Tumors, inflammation, vascular issues, and more, across organs like brain, heart, and abdomen.

Specific to Diagnostic MRI

  • To investigate specific symptoms, like back pain (spine MRI) or headaches (brain MRI).

  • It provides detailed views of cartilage, ligaments, and inflammation, aiding diagnoses like arthritis.

  • Yes, it's excellent for MS, strokes, or tumors in the brain and spine.

  • A specialized type mapping brain activity; not routine at our center—ask about availability.

  • Used for high-risk patients or dense breasts, often with contrast for better detection. However, we do not currently offer breast imaging.

Specific to CT Scan

  • To evaluate trauma, infections, cancers, or internal bleeding quickly.

  • Unfortunately we do not offer lung screening at this time.

  • It visualizes blood vessels with contrast to check for blockages or aneurysms.

  • Cardiac CT assesses calcium buildup or coronary arteries for heart disease risk.

  • A non-invasive alternative to traditional colonoscopy for colon cancer screening.

Additional Common Questions

  • Yes, by the American College of Radiology (ACR), ensuring high standards.

  • Alternatives like non-contrast scans or premedication are available; inform us ahead.

  • We will send a survey to each patient after their visit. Your input helps us maintain our luxurious standards.
